The spring wildflowers of Western Australia’s Golden Outback are the most notable of the region’s plant species, attracting visitors and keen photographers from far and wide. With over 12,000 varieties scattered throughout the vast landscapes of the outback, many of which are found nowhere else on Earth, no other region in Western Australia is more spectacular or diverse.
From late July to November, the spring wildflowers of Western Australia’s Golden Outback carpet the landscape in dazzling colours. If you’re lucky enough to be in the Gascoyne-Murchison at this time, you’ll see the dainty everlastings in pinks, mauves, whites and yellows as far as the eye can see.
In the Wheatbelt, you’ll discover the spectacular wreath leschenaultia near Mullewa, Perenjori and Dalwallinu. Springtime at Wongan Hills is a treasure trove, with almost 1,300 flower varieties. And near Ravensthorpe and Hopetoun, you’ll find the majestic royal hakea in the Fitzgerald River National Park.
