The Pathways to Wave Rock is a 760km self-drive trail taking you through charming Wheatbelt towns towards Wave Rock.
Enjoy country hospitality, natural bushland with wildflowers in season, spectacular night skies, granite outcrops with amazing vistas and an authentic Aussie Wheatbelt agricultural experience!
Your Wheatbelt experience begins as you leave Perth on the Great Eastern Highway, travelling to WA’s first inland town York. Enjoy the motor museum, historic buildings, cafes and restaurants before setting off for Quairading. Check out ‘El Toro’, a life-size spanish bull sculpture in the centre of town and view the town's very own 'pink lake' and explore the amazing nature reserve, Dangin Heritage Trail and Nookaminnie Rock, great for wildflower spotting and watching the Wheatbelt's breathtaking sunsets.
Travelling towards Bruce Rock you will find Kokerbin Rock, a massive monolith with great views and picnic area in the Bruce Rock Shire.
Bruce Rock has a fabulous aquatic centre for summer fun, and an amphitheatre with sculpture park to rest for lunch. Enjoy the picturesque town, historic buildings and museums.
Travel along the Mt Walker road with its colourful wildflowers in springtime and onto Hyden. Allow time to explore Wave Rock, see Hippo's Yawn and The Humps, wildlife park and other attractions.
Take alternative routes south through Lake Grace’s salt lake country and Kulin along the Tin Horse Highway or west through Kondinin, Corrigin home of “The dog in a ute” and west along the Brookton Highway.
