Wooleen Station is a working cattle station in the outback of Western Australia. Your hosts the Pollock family will make your stay comfortable, educational and enjoyable in the National Trust listed homestead, the self-contained rammed earth guest houses or in the camping grounds.
Wooleen offers eco-tours with David out into the rangelands and the tours include understanding of the ecology of the rangelands, the problems the pastoral industry face as a whole, the workings of the cattle property, flora and fauna, early pioneering history, aboriginal culture and the peace and quiet of the ancient landscape.
Enjoy a sunset tour of the oldest lands in the world or self-drive tours or even bush-walking experiencing at this wonderful station.
Homestead stays includes luxury accommodation in the original 1918 homestead bedrooms, home-style cooking, and a cellar full of Western Australian wines, billiard room, library, swimming pool and an oasis of a garden.
Otherwise, stay in our newly built Self-contained two-bedroom guesthouses. Full kitchen facilities, bathroom, open fireplace, all linen and towels supplied.
Wooleen is a place to relax, unwind and enjoy your holiday.
Guests can join in with station activities or just enjoy the Australian outback bush.
Children activities include tours, bushwalking, meeting the working dogs, or meeting contented homestead cats.

Weather and Roads
Entry into the Murchison and Wooleen Station is via an unsealed road (gravel), although this road is graded regularly we recommend you seek advice before heading out on the current conditions of the road. Heavy rainfall which can occur in winter will lead to road closures. In such circumstances, all deposits will be refunded in full. However, Wooleen cannot be responsible for any other expenses incurred by guests affected by such a closure.
Wooleen can experience extremes in weather and temperatures. Ranging from frosts in winter to heat in the high 40s during the summer, see Murchison Climatology. We recommend you plan ahead and ensure that you have enough food and water with you before setting out.

Rammed Earth Guesthouses boast all the peace and serenity of the outback. Very spacious the guesthouses have everything you could want. Guesthouses are self-contained so please remember to bring all your own meals.

Unpowered site
Set up your tent, camper trailer or caravan in the Wooleen nature-based remote campgrounds. Sites are located anywhere from 6 - 16kms from the main homestead.
- Visitors must be prepared to be self-sufficient and travel in an off-road or semi off-road vehicle.
- Drop toilets can be found at each site and shower facilities can be used by driving back to the homestead.
- A firepit is supplied and firewood can be collected from designated areas or feel free to BYO.
- Rainwater and non-potable water can be obtained from the homestead.
- Your dog is welcome at your remote campsite but we respectfully request that he/she remains in your vehicle at all times during check-in and check-out.
