Beacon is a small town in the north-east wheatbelt in the Shire of Mt Marshall, approximately 320km north-east of Perth, along the Wheatbelt Way self drive route.
Beacon has the great feature of being the farthest north-easterly town in the Wheatbelt. As such, it is not a typical Wheatbelt location, adjacent to extensive native bushland and pastoral country.
There are numerous granite and other rock formations, many of which have been harnessed for the collection of rainwater.
