Discover the Esperance-Goldfields first Gin Distillery!
Launched in late 2020 as Australia’s smallest distillery, Esperance’s newest attraction has been hugely popular with locals and visitors alike.
Esperance is long renowned for its famous white beaches and coastal scenery and Esperance Distillery Co is led by father and son team James and David, whose mission is to make incredible tasting gin that is solely unique to the Esperance region and coastal biodiversity, through the sourcing of native botanicals local to Esperance.
Drop by the cellar door at 77 Norseman Road to try the spirit of Esperance. Their small batch ‘Cut and Run’ London-dry botanical gin, as well as a number of other small-batch spirits, are available at the cellar door, or online.
Esperance Distillery Co wins gold at the recent Perth Royal Spirit Awards for their first gin release.
The gin is the distillery’s first signature release and took out gold at the Perth Royal Show for the West Australian Spirit Awards London Dry category after a blind tasting with several distinguished judges on Friday 20th August. The distillery had entered their first gin to assess its pedigree against other distilleries across the state and was pleasantly surprised when it took out the highest award.
The father and son duo began operation in December 2020 when they repurposed an unused fish processing plant with a focus on creating spirits inspired from native botanicals across in and around the Esperance region. The duo launched on a shoestring budget as Australia’s smallest distillery using a repurposed 30L backyard-scale still, and modified the recipe twenty-two times before they were happy with Cut and Run.
