Visitors are welcome to tour the registered export establishment of the world's leading yabby processors. Cambinata Yabbies was established in 1991 by Michael and Mary Nenke and their six children on the family's wheat and sheep property, 300 kilometres south east of Perth. The yabby export business and grain producing farm is situated on the edge of the tiny wheatbelt town of Kukerin - an unlikely place to find a fish processing factory exporting to the world.
Cambinata Yabbies has grown from a small tank on the side of a dam to a sophisticated export establishment incorporating innovative state of the art equipment (Tony McAuliffe - Australian Quarantine Inspection Services). Initially supplying one restaurant in Perth, Cambinata has now established markets in Europe, Asia and United States of America. Yabbies are sourced from a register of nearly 700 farmers over an area of approximately 200,000 square kilometres.
Visitors may make purchases of live yabbies and the company's unique range of gourmet yabbies (chilli, sweet spicy and lemon yabbies in jars). Meals and tastings are available for pre-booked groups.
