Looking for a fun and educational way to liven up your holiday trip, why not make a 'Wheatbelt Weekend' road trip to a new and different location each weekend!
Looking to our Pioneers to revive Western Australia’s Tourism Industry, The Pioneer Challenge is run by the Rotary Club of Matilda Bay.
The funds raised from The Pioneer Challenge will go towards maintaining and expanding the King Edward Hospital Rose Garden and to build a meeting place for bereaved families.
Your objective is to enter the challenge to find and photograph nine heritage graves, answer a quiz and submit a short account of what you have learnt about the deceased. Your participation will also assist the country towns you visit on the way.
You can enter a challenge as an individual, a family or in a team and you can choose a portion of Route 120 (Great Southern Highway) or all of it from York to Albany.
Entries will win prizes during the year and a grand prize at the end of the competition.
The towns involved in The Pioneer Challenge include
York | Beverley | Kokeby and Brookton | Pingelly | Popanyinning, Yomaning and Cuballing | Narrogin
Wagin | Woodanilling | Marracoonda and Katanning | Broomehill and Tambellup | Cranbrook and Tenterden
